Using a sample we analyzed across 10,000 accounts with Circleboom’s Tools and activity signals, the posting intensity inside NSFW creator clusters was consistently much higher than the baseline. A conservative ratio that fit the pattern was about 10 times the posting volume of a typical active user.

If a small NSFW creator core posts around 10x more than average, then it does not need to be 13% of users to produce 13% of posts. In a simplified model, if normal users produce 1 unit of content and NSFW creators produce 10 units, then an NSFW creator share of about 1.5% of users can generate roughly 13% of total posts.

Real life adds two complications: not every post from an adult creator is explicit, and bots inject NSFW reply spam that inflates visible volume. Once you account for those realities, the cleanest interpretation is a range, not a single point.

My working estimate is that the NSFW creator base is roughly 1% to 3% of users, while the NSFW engagement audience, the people who follow, like, bookmark, and click, is much larger than the creator core and is the real distribution engine.

That’s why I don’t treat the size of NSFW community on Twitter or the size of NSFW community on X as one neat percentage. It’s a layered market: a small creator core, a much broader engagement halo, and a bot layer that exaggerates everything unless you remove it from the analysis.

How we modeled the real size of the NSFW creator base

To avoid misleading conclusions, we didn’t rely on surface level percentages or raw content counts. Instead, we applied a ratio based model that looks at who produces content, how often they post, and how that output translates into visible volume on X.

Using Circleboom’s advanced account search, keyword filters, and activity signals, we analyzed posting behavior across 10,000 accounts, separating typical active users from NSFW focused creator clusters. What emerged very clearly was a posting intensity imbalance: NSFW creators publish at a dramatically higher frequency than the average user.

Across multiple samples, the most conservative ratio that consistently fit the data was that NSFW creators post roughly 10 times more often than a typical active account. This matters because the widely cited 13% NSFW figure refers to content share, not user share. Content share alone cannot be directly translated into “how many people” without adjusting for posting behavior.

Once you apply this intensity correction, the math changes quickly. If a normal user produces 1 unit of content and an NSFW creator produces around 10 units, then NSFW creators do not need to represent 13% of users to generate 13% of posts. In a simplified but realistic model, an NSFW creator share of roughly 1% to 3% of users can account for around 13% of total platform output.

Real world behavior adds further nuance. Not every post from an adult creator is explicit, and a significant portion of visible NSFW volume is amplified by bot driven reply spam, which inflates apparent activity without reflecting real creators. Once those effects are accounted for, the cleanest interpretation is a range rather than a single number.

Final estimate :
