We call accounts with specific criteria as Fake followers which are inactive accounts and do not engage with your Twitter account anymore. These fake Twitter accounts should not have to be humans, they could be created by some troll engines, spammers, and bots. Even they follow you on Twitter, they do not interact with your account nor retweet or like any of your tweets. Following fake users on Twitter, also increases your Twitter following/followers ratio with an adverse outcome for no reason. It’s a no-brainer to remove fake Twitter followers and clean up your Twitter account from fake accounts.
Twitter has begun removing tens of millions of flagged accounts from users’ followers in July 2018. It was great news for the Twitter platform because users regularly want to clean up their Twitter accounts.
Though it was a good start for Twitter, deleting the locked accounts is not enough to clean up your Twitter account. Apart from the locked ones, there are lots of suspended accounts and fake accounts which should also be unfollowed to clean your Twitter profile.
Here are three easy steps to remove fake Twitter users;
Step 1 – Log into your Circleboom account by using login with your Twitter account (We don’t ask for your Twitter password)
Step 2 – Open up the menu on the left-hand side of Circleboom’s Dashboard. Click the “Circle” menu on it. It will immediately open up a sub-menu. Click on “Fake accounts.”
Step 3 – Click “Visit” button related to the user you want to unfollow on the grid.
We created a hands-on video to demonstrate “How to Unfollow Fake Twitter Accounts in 3 Steps.”
To prevent unwanted unfollows, we developed the whitelist module and embedded it into all Circleboom’s Unfollow tools. You can read more about “How to Whitelist My Twitter Followers.”
