One of the most common pieces of advice for gaining followers on Twitter is to follow other people’s followers, especially those following accounts similar to yours. So, I tried this approach. I followed influencers’ followers, especially those in my niche, hoping they would follow me back.

But I quickly ran into a problem.
Following hundreds of people manually was time-consuming. When I got into the groove, Twitter started limiting the number of accounts I could follow daily. Despite all the efforts, I didn’t see a significant increase in my followers. It felt like all my hard work wasn’t paying off.
